Anna Cook

Anna Cook brings over a decade of expertise working in shared mobility and transportation sustainability work.  She has worked at Ithaca Carshare since its launch in 2008, and has played a key role in operational management, member services, and organizational development as the service has seen significant growth to its current size of 30 cars and 1400 members.  In 2016 she advocated for the expansion of Ithaca Carshare to the non-profit umbrella organization The Center for Community Transportation, with a lens on bringing the mission of enhancing community access to transportation while reducing its negative environmental and economic impacts beyond solely carsharing.  The Center for Community Transportation now houses Bike Walk Tompkins advocacy and education work around bike and pedestrian issues and the Backup Ride Home service for Ithaca area commuters. Its scope of work continues to broaden in collaboration with many community partners.  Anna has played a core role in building systems essential to the day-to-day operation and ongoing growth of the organization.

An avid outdoor recreationist and bike enthusiast, Anna served as a 7-year board member of Cycle-CNY (a chapter of the International Mountain Bike Association) and  is a co-founder of the Cycle-CNY women’s bike skills series.

Anna has a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Ithaca College, where she focused on communication and sustainability.
